When Tony Franco’s brother dies in his arms after a botched armed robbery in the south side of Detroit, his fate is changed forever as his new life is nothing anyone could have expected.
Against the Wind is the story of escaped prisoner Tony Franco and his relationship with his best friend and mentor, Pastor Edward Rinehart.
After Tony breaks out of prison, he travels to the other side of the state and hides in the tiny farming town of LaRue. The small Ohio town has only 800 people and Tony is the only young black person.
Tony pretends to be a pastor in training sent to assist with the development of a new church building.Originally, he pretends to be a pastor to keep himself from being discovered and sent back to jail. But after a life-changing miracle, the pastor in training learns that he is a true believer after all and was sent by God to do enormous good.
