Outer Banks Publishing Group started in August 2009 with the premise that our business model addresses the shifting landscape of the publishing industry.

We use book professionals as consultants in addition to myself - I am a business intelligence/analyst in the publishing industry. We contract professional editors, book designers, proofreaders, and book marketers for our titles.

What sets us apart from other publishers is that we use the Internet and all the social and viral marketing tools available to create interest and buzz for our titles on the Internet, where the majority of books are being purchased. We use print as a smaller, but important distribution channel only after we create the buzz and interest on the Internet. Our publishing model addresses how the majority of books are being purchased today - on the Internet and in digital format.

CORRECTION myself: I submitted an earlier OBPG typo comment but referred to your "Welcome" page which is not the right location. I have looked and looked and cannot find the page via your links on the lower right side. However, I'm sure you know your own page topics and can easily figure out what I was viewing today!

Hello Mrs. Kucera,
Thank you so much for pointing out the typo. We really appreciate it. Mistakes do happen and we have since corrected it.

I am taking a risk because after this note, I want to send you a book query, i.e., I do not want to offend you. Are you aware you have a typo on your "Welcome" page? See pasted example below. I thought you might wish to correct it so prospective clients take your work more seriously? It does raise the question about how much time you prefer spending on proofreading authors' books.

NOTE: the first word below....should be "No."

"Not matter what you write about, if the content and the writing engages, inspires, entertains or educates with an emotional attraction, the world will open up to you. "
